about

The latest brainchild of Swedish composer Simon Balthazar (Fanfarlo, Swoon), Hieronymous mixes 1970s film music, psychedelia, and post punk to create lush pop music laden with harpsichords, electric pianos and analog synths. Though it has a distinctly British flavour, Hieronymous is squarely a product of the cosmopolis Mexico City, from the lyrics that speak of lost loves and lost roots to the international collaborators and musicians integral to the project. Balthazar is joined by musicians Maciej Majewski, Rafael Durand (Frege) and Diego Noyola.

LIFEBOAT / LYRICS

You can have my lifeboat
I’ve grown tired of it

You can take my lighthouse
It’s yours to keep

It’s so cold in the water
It’s so deep

I found your answer
The one you’ve been looking for
But it hurts when it’s over: what now?

I was there for the first one
I was there for the next
But I won’t for the last one
I’ll be gone

When It’s time to wake up
It’s a little late
And it hurts to be sober: what now?

I was there for the first one
I was there for the next
But I won’t for the last one
I’ll be gone
